Home: Welcome

Dearest Mama and Daddy, I'm so sorry you are here. I'm Freya's mommy, and here's our story.

In Memory of Freya Grace

DSC_0478,1logo.jpg

In The Arms of Jesus Remembrance Photography and Grief Support was created to honor my daughter, Freya Grace, and to bring the hope and comfort of Heaven and a loving, supportive community to others grieving the loss of their children. Freya was born still at 39 weeks gestation. It was a complete shock to us. We went into the hospital to deliver a healthy, living baby, and discovered the most devastating news. Freya had died. I did not know of the resources available to us. I didn't know there were photographers who specialized in bereavement and perinatal losses. Our nurse took my daughter's photos, and although I am so thankful for them and they are so precious to me, they are not quality pictures. One of my biggest regrets is not having a family picture when my oldest daughter met her little sister.  In our fog and shock, I needed someone to be my advocate and share with me the resources and opportunities I had to parent her in the hospital, resources like a remembrance photographer or bereavement and lactation doulas, and opportunities like giving her a bath, dressing her, and taking family photos. In the Arms of Jesus hopes to be that advocate and support, to give you the resources to make and capture memories that will last your lifetime, because memories and hope are what you cling to when your child dies. I hope to be able to provide families with a priceless gift.

Remembrance Photography

Making moments last a lifetime.

It is In The Arms of Jesus Remembrance Photography and Grief Support's vision to serve families experiencing perinatal loss, to capture the precious moments and create lasting memories with your sweet babes.  I will lovingly photograph your experience- your child's birth, your baby's first bath, their baptism, your family meeting and saying hello and goodbye, posed family portraits, and capture every tiny, perfectly, wonderfully made detail and feature of your precious little one.

Remembrance Photography can take place in many settings: in the hospital, funeral home, at a memorial service, graveside or in your home.

Choosing remembrance photography and memory making moments helps alleviate regrets for many families. The biggest regret for many parents is not being open to photography or not having enough pictures of their short time with their child.  Many agree they are treasured keepsakes. Photos help tell your child's story and keep their memory alive.

"Every parent who has lost a child must make the decision to continue living in an impossible reality. Family and friends are an invaluable support system after such a loss, but there is a specific comfort that can only be found in shared experience. There’s something so transformative about being able to look someone in the eye and know that they understand what you’ve been through.
The Haven community is here to help you through."

"Sufficient Grace Ministries for Women, a 501 (c ) 3 non-profit, non-denominational organization, was founded by Kelly Gerken in 2004, with the purpose of reaching out to women and families to offer comfort, encouragement and hope. The Dreams of You division of this ministry was created specifically to provide comfort to women and families who have lost a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death. Sufficient Grace Ministries offers a comprehensive list of support options for bereaved parents, and parents currently carrying a baby with a life-limiting diagnosis."

"The Still Remembered Project provides bereaved parents and families Christian-based support and encouragement for a loss due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant death. Our efforts offer hope and healing throughout all stages of the grief journey."

"We provide comfort, hope, and healing to families grieving the loss of a baby in Heaven.
Our Vision
We desire to provide comfort and hope to every family who experiences the heartbreaking loss of a baby. We desire for grieving families to know the hope we have to see our babies again in Heaven through faith in Jesus Christ."

"Star Legacy Foundation is a community of health professionals, families, researchers, policy makers, and advocates dedicated to healthy pregnancy outcomes and stillbirth prevention. We provide education, support research, offer family support, raise awareness, and encourage advocacy regarding pregnancy loss and neonatal death. Our focus is to prevent these stillbirths and ensure optimal care for families when prevention isn’t possible. Our passion comes from the memory of babies who left us too soon and the belief that every pregnancy deserves a happy ending."

"Founded in 2012, Still Standing Magazine, LLC, shares stories from around the world of writers surviving the aftermath of lossinfertility - and includes information on how others can help. This is a page for all grieving parents. If you grieve the loss of your child, no matter the circumstances, you are welcome here."
